J-Bay Becomes a Met

Well, pending a physical - and there are some concerns about his shoulder and his knee - Jason Bay will be playing for the Mets next year, for a reported four year, $66 million deal.  That would seem to leave the Sox outfield with Ellsbury in left, Mike Cameron in center, and J.D. Drew in right.  I am guessing Josh Reddick would be the "spare" outfielder  if no further deals are made.  This ends much speculation that Theo was still in the hunt for J-Bay, who was looking for a five year deal that never materialized.

I don't think Reddick will be the fourth outfielder. I see the guy we picked up from Flordia filling that role. He has always beed ranked as one of the best prospects in baseball he just never materialized.

Yeah, Reddick struggled at the plate in 20+ games in Boston. The only other hot prospects for outfielders in the farm system are Kalish and Westmoreland, and neither is ready for prime time.
